Biography Bambang Pamungkas

Bambang Pamungkas is known as a striker with a header and a accurate kick. Bepe is an excellent, sensational, unique player. He is astoundingly creative, has amazing individual skill and is able to constantly put his rivals at unease. A natural left footer, he is stunningly header he is like stop in the air when heading the ball.

He may not be very tall, but his header and physique enable him to cope with even the toughest of defenders. He is surprisingly strong, and can hold on to the ball in style, as if it were stuck to his feet. There is simply nobody like him anywhere else in the game. He is also a specialist at all dead ball situations, especially free kicks and penalties.

Bambang Pamungkas was born in Semarang, Central Java, 35 years ago. He is the son of the couple of H. Misranto and Hj. Suriptinah. Bambang Pamungkas was the fifth child of 6 brothers.

In the beginning, Bambang Pamungkas never thought of being a football player. He loves reading and cooking, and aspires to be a teacher or a chef.

But Bambang Pamungkas talent honed since he joined SSB (Soccer School) Ungaran serasi in 1988. His natural talent  made clubs of  Persikas Semarang was interested to recruiting his in 1992.

While he was still playing in the youth team of Central Java, he was crowned as the best player Haornas Cup, a championship-level youth. Bambang also became the top scorer for Team Indonesia in the Asian Cup U-19 Group V, with 7 goals.

Since then, Bambang interest  in football increased rapidly. he was even willing to leave the bench in the second semester of the lecture for serious career in football. Bambang completely new comer when play for Persija Jakarta in 1999. Although the first season as Persija player who is familiarly called BePe only managed to score 2 goals, but the ability was smelled by a talent scout from the Dutch football club, EHC Norad. Bambang was loaned by Persija club to play in the Dutch league division 3 of this.

However Bepe stay only a few months there, due to family problems and his failure to adapt to the cold climate of Europe. At the beginning of the 2001 season, he returned to Persija.

His wonderful performance with Persija make Bepe was called to be player of the senior national team of Indonesia. Bambang scored on his first match with the senior national team, which is against Lithuania with the final result 2-2.

In 2002, Bepe managed to carve his name into one of the best players in the Indonesian national team. He played as Indonesian player in Tiger Cup also became the top scorer of the tournament with a score of 8 goals. He was staying as a the future striker of Indonesia, to replace his idol, Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto.

During the 3-year bepe become an irreplaceable figure in the front line of Red and White teams. However, in 2004, a number of injury makes Bambang could not appear in excellent winning team squad. Eventually the name was eliminated from the winning team squad Tiger Cup 2004. Bambang 'migration' to Malaysia to play it by one of the elite club of the neighbor country, Selangor FC.

Bambang was shining on Malaysian land. In his first season in Selangor FC, he became the club's top scorer with a notch 22 goals in all competitions.

At the beginning of the 2007 season, Bepe back to Indonesia and to play at the club that  made his name shined, Persija. Bepe went back out front-line Indonesian national team. On July 10, 2007, he ended his goal drought in the arena with the team scoring the victory over Bahrain Indonesia.

In 2010, elected as captain Bepe Persija and the senior national team in a number of competitions. He was called back to the national team in the AFF Cup 2010. Although many critics that his career in the national team has been 'exhausted'. However, the 168 cm player want to prove he can still compete with the striker Indonesia, including naturalized striker Christian Gonzalez.

In 2014, he played for Pelita Bandung Raya where his team reach ISL semifinal. Besides his activity in footbal, now He runs the online media with his partner Darius sinathrya (a televison presenter).

At last, to gain the the success, bepe told " never stop dreaming ...... because maybe someday your dreams will come true ".
